Welcome to the Rowland’s Castle model railway web site. The site has been designed to support the model railway with general information, the reasoning behind it, pictures, plans and detailed lists of all the rolling stock and military equipment used on the model. The historical context of the model was an important factor for me in its concept and even now, after extensive research, there are still ‘new’ factors coming to light which could have been included.
Having an interest in model railways, military vehicles and architectural modelling, the combined conclusion evolved into a depiction of a typical country village located towards the south coast of England at a time when the tide of the second world war was beginning to turn.
My thanks go to all our friends who have and continue to contribute information to the project. We are constantly meeting new people at shows who were either around during the war, or are able to contribute further information and facts. All is noted down for reference.
